Kure Specialty Food, “Gansu”

Kure Food

Gansu is a dish made of boiled fish paste with minced onions and a seven spice blend, formed into flat squares and round shapes and deep-fried with breadcrumbs. It is one of Kure’s gourmet specialty foods.

Gansu is good for eating with sake or as a snack. You can buy it at supermarkets in Kure. Many Izakayas, simple relaxing bars, also offer Gansu.

You can also enjoy Gansu hamburgers at some restaurants in Kure.

If you would like to try some, please contact the Kure Sightseeing Information Plaza.
