Setouchi Seafood in Kure – Yakitori Restaurants with their own Fish Tanks
There are many yakitori restaurants in downtown Kure, but you might be surprised when you walk through the door. Most of these yakitori restaurants have large fish tanks stocked with fish from the Seto Inland Sea. A lot of restaurants source their live catches directly from local fishermen, making Kure a great place to come if you want to enjoy fresh seasonal fish. Kure is also famous for producing the most oysters in Japan, so if you enjoy oysters make sure to visit Kure in December when oyster season starts.
Needless to say, all the restaurants offer a wide variety of yakitori. The best bet is to ask for the chef’s recommendation as soon as you sit down.
